Governor Walker announces $155,000 transportation grant to Village of Mount Pleasant

Governor Scott Walker announced today that the Village of Mount Pleasant is being awarded a Transportation Economic Assistance (TEA) grant. The $155,000 award represents the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s contribution for intersection improvements to benefit Seda International Packaging Group. This TEA project will create 31 new jobs at Seda, while indirectly supporting another 34 jobs. ... Bank financing means Porters redevelopment can proceed

RACINE — It took him a year to do it, but Micah Waters finally learned Monday he will get the bank financing that will allow a $6 million Porters of Racine redevelopment to begin.  One year and three days ago, Waters and city officials announced the project to convert Porters, 301 Sixth St., into 37 apartments and seven ground-floor retail spaces. Public Schools administrator was named the sole finalist in Racine Unified’s months-long superintendent search on Monday.  Lolli Haws is the instructional superintendent for 13 schools in the Washington, D.C., system; she works to facilitate better student performance and reduce achievement gaps.
