Governor's Small Business Summit registration closes Friday

MOUNT PLEASANT — Businesspeople have until Friday to register for the Governor’s Small Business Summit on Sept. 10, a daylong event at the Racine Marriott, 7111 Washington Ave.  The summit will bring cabinet secretaries and state agencies together with small business owners, entrepreneurs and “innovators” to discuss topics of interest, according to a flyer provided by Lt. QPS survey shows some employers plan to raise wages in 3Q

Brookfield-based QPS Employment Group, a staffing and recruiting firm, has conducted a survey that indicates more than 27 percent of Midwestern companies plan to increase wages in the third quarter.  The quarterly QPS survey was conducted in June and included 263 companies in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. Caledonia Board OKs change to sewer service pact

CALEDONIA — The Village Board on Monday finished up some outstanding matters and also took a another step toward bringing growth to the Interstate 94 corridor.  The board approved an amendment to its sewer service agreement with Mount Pleasant. Villages strike a deal to aid development

STURTEVANT – An agreement reached in principle between Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant will spur development on two properties near Durand Avenue and Highway H, officials say.  Under the agreement, Mount Pleasant will transfer about 67 acres at the Enterprise Business Park, 2472 West Road, to Sturtevant. Ten Club Park plans shape up
