S.C. Johnson buys former Diversey HQ for $27.6 million

Racine-based S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. recently closed on its purchase of the former Diversey Inc. corporate headquarters in Sturtevant for nearly $27.6 million, according to state records.  The 58-acre site at 8217 Washington Avenue includes a 277,000-square-foot office building.  Diversey, a sanitation solutions firm, was acquired in 2011 by Sealed Air Corp. RACINE — Machinery Row’s developers have secured $9 million in historic tax credits that will let them forge ahead with a $65 million riverfront redevelopment plan.  Davenport, Iowa-based Financial District Properties is working on a massive commercial-residential redevelopment of what the Root River Corridor Redevelopment Plan calls Machinery Row.
