Mount Pleasant president appoints banker Kis as trustee
Bank executive and village Plan Commission member John Kis has been appointed a village trustee by newly elected Mount Pleasant President David DeGroot, the latter announced Tuesday.
DeGroot took office as the new village president Tuesday and named Kis to replace him as a trustee on the Village Board. The appointment will go before the board for confirmation at a 6 p.m. special meeting held prior to the next board meeting on Monday. If confirmed, Kis will serve out the two-year term vacated by DeGroot as trustee. The position pays $6,500 annually.
